Nursery, Nursery, Nursery….

Ever since we found out we are having a girl, we have been thinking about what we would do with the nursery. The things is…we don’t have a nursery. Right now we don’t have the space for one. But, what we do have a really big room with a corner just for her and her things. Our room is painted an aqua/teal color and our accents are red so I’ve been trying to think of something that would go along with the design we already have without being too matchy-matchy.

The vision in my head is for it to not be an overly girly area (bleh to all the pink and frills) and for it to be upbeat, fun and colorful. We LOVE color…so here is what we have so far:

The pictures will be wall art above her bed and I plan on making a big “E” out of some cardboard and some funky paper. I LOVE the idea of that dress with a built in book shelf, such a space saver. And what better to go with red and blue…than yellow? I am loving the idea and can’t wait to execute it. We probably won’t be doing anything nursery related until we are in the 20’s week wise, but when we do we will definitely let you see!

Love,

J

About jaymeepatterson

I started life with the belief that, in today's times, a woman must have a big-time career, be completely independent, and, essentially, be the sum of "I am woman, hear me roar." As I grew up the common dream of "prince charming" started worming its way into my brain. One day, in college, while I was planning the next move on my road toward a nursing career I realized something odd. I was in love. Soon after I was engaged and then married. Shortly into my marriage I realized two things. 1. I was not happy with what I was working toward. 2. Why can't the idea of an independent, chic, housewife exist? So, I created it! Well, maybe not, but I did start living it. As I was living this dream life a genius thought came to mind. Why not share this idea with the public? Share this notion of a chic woman who runs her home...from home! So here it is. Enjoy, ladies!
