Week 17: Pregnancy

It’s week 17! I am actually 17 weeks and 3 days and in pregnancy, every day counts!

What’s going on with Everleigh? This week, Everleigh is the size of a large onion. Or 5 1/2 inches long and about 6 oz! She’s sure is growing…and I can tell! I feel like my belly DOUBLED in size this week. Although, it probably hasn’t…I feel pretty darn huge. This week her cartilage is turning into real hard bone, she putting on more fat, and her umbilical cord is getting bigger and stronger. She has really been kicking away this week, too! If I’m sitting still, like sitting in the movies the other night, I can feel her go crazy in there!

How am I doing? I’ve been feeling pretty uncomfortable lately. I hate my tummy being covered cause it gets really hot and sleeping has become a chore. But  I’m doing really well and all around pretty happy!

How’s my appetite? Pretty great! I’ve been cooking again and actually having fun doing it like I used to. I’ve been trying to eat as healthy as possible, but Ryan did have to cure 2 cravings this week. One night we were laying in bed watching Breaking Bad and I just HAD to have one of those ice cream bars with the vanilla ice cream and the chocolate shell on the outside. Then, today, I had a craving for crinkle cut fries with nacho cheese and Ryan brought some home with him after work! He’s such a sweet man!

What happened this week? I did a lot of research on birthing classes and decided on the Hypnobirthing method. If you’re interested in why you can check out my reasoning here. It’s been pretty calm around here all week, though.

Randomness of the week:

  • I can’t get cool enough and the freezer is my friend
  • I have to sleep with a pillow between my legs
  • I wish I could walk around naked all day long
  • I’m ready to start shopping for this little girl
  • I’ve gained 8 1/2 lbs to date

About jaymeepatterson

I started life with the belief that, in today's times, a woman must have a big-time career, be completely independent, and, essentially, be the sum of "I am woman, hear me roar." As I grew up the common dream of "prince charming" started worming its way into my brain. One day, in college, while I was planning the next move on my road toward a nursing career I realized something odd. I was in love. Soon after I was engaged and then married. Shortly into my marriage I realized two things. 1. I was not happy with what I was working toward. 2. Why can't the idea of an independent, chic, housewife exist? So, I created it! Well, maybe not, but I did start living it. As I was living this dream life a genius thought came to mind. Why not share this idea with the public? Share this notion of a chic woman who runs her home...from home! So here it is. Enjoy, ladies!
